EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) is a type of non-volatile memory that stores data even when the power is turned off.
EPRM (Electrically Programmable Read-Only Memory) is a similar type of memory that is programmed during manufacturing and typically cannot be reprogrammed.
The EEPROM or EPRM reset is usually performed to troubleshoot and resolve any spa pool operation issues. It's like restarting a computer when it's not working correctly.
This reset can resolve many software glitches or configuration issues in the control system, allowing the spa pool to function properly again.
Performing an EEPROM or EPRM reset is particularly effective in the following scenarios:

In most spa models, Pump A controls the circulation pump, which is responsible for water movement through the heater for consistent temperature. However, some spa owners mistakenly expect Pump A to control a jet pump.
Before performing a reset, verify what Pump A is actually controlling. Misunderstandings about pump configuration can lead to unnecessary troubleshooting steps.
For Vortex™ and Fisher™ Spas, where Pump A operates the circulation pumps, the touchpad will consistently provide ON/OFF and AUTO options. This ensures that the button is solely managing the circulation pump, not the jet pump.
Airlocks, especially in the circulation pump, can also cause heating issues or erratic operation. If the spa is not heating or circulating water, check for air locks and bleed the system if necessary before performing a reset.
Important: All user software setting values are reset to factory default including the Set temperature of 38°C. Electrical settings in the configuration menu such as C.LMT (current limit) and L.SHD (load shed) settings will NOT be adjusted as they have been customised to suit the particular spa pool and its available power supply by the spa manufacturer or installing electrician.

If you're using a SpaNet SmartTouch™ touchpad and need to perform an EEPROM (EPRM) reset, follow these steps carefully. This reset will restore the system to its factory settings, helping to resolve software-related issues. Steps to Perform an EEPROM Reset:
Before starting the reset, change the Set Temperature to a value other than 38°C (e.g., 36°C or 40°C). This step will help you confirm whether the reset has been successful.
Press the settings icon on the touchpad to open the settings menu.
Use the DOWN arrow on the right side of the screen to scroll through the menu. Locate and select the “EPRM Factory Data Reset” option.
Press the green button labeled “EPRM Press to Reset Settings” to confirm. Wait for the touchpad to process and confirm that the settings have been saved.
Use the back arrow at the top of the screen to navigate back to the main display.
Check if the Set Temperature has been automatically reset to 38°C. If the Set Temperature has not reset to 38°C, repeat Steps 2–6 until it does.
After completing the EPRM reset, it’s good practice to turn the mains power off and then back on. This ensures the control system fully reboots when the factory settings are applied.
